Connecting Oregonians to Careers in the Semiconductor Industry

This project was commissioned by an Oregon State University initiative to promote semiconductor careers to Oregonians. It serves as a hub of resources, job openings, and educational opportunities for those curious about one of Oregon's most prominent industries.

This project was a collaborative effort at Madison Ave. Collective

Oregon Semi Central had no brand identity to speak of at the onset of this project, so creating a logo and associated brand system was the first step of the process. The final logo was a collaboration among the team, which expertly handled the lengthy full name as well as set the colloquial name apart in bold. The delicate lines and geometric shapes will be a theme carried into the website.

Final logo design

Though this project was spearheaded by Oregon State University, the initiative was for anyone interested in the semiconductor industry, no matter their educational path. The brand needed feel approachable and simple, be in step with the tech industry, and feel specific to both Oregon and semiconductor technologies. The circle is an abstraction of semiconductor silicone wafers, the fine line representing their flawlessness and delicateness. The star-like highlight on the circle lends an air of aspiration to the logo overall. It is also representative of the grid structure of a silicone wafer.

Brand and website moodboard

Translating this light and elegant yet bright and fresh vision for the brand into a web interface involved unique use of color and shape. Circle images are a motif throughout the site, mimicking the shame of semiconductor silicone wafers. Subtle grass green highlights on the images mirror the logo's star-like plus.
